WHAT ARE THE PRESCHOOLERS WEARING FOR THEIR ROUTINES?
Their tap, jazz and ballet costumes are hired from CDT. They will be trying on costumes during class time, their first costume will go home with them the week of the concert (Week 8) to wear to the venue, and then the other costumes will be at the concert venue when the students arrive.
As these costumes are hired we will be unable to give them out unless the balance has been paid and will not be able to be collected at any other time that is not the allocated time.
For the finale all cast members will need to wear the special concert shirts included in your invoice and black shorts (you provide). Their shirt is given to them at the concert.
No Jewellery can be worn at the concert. Please leave it at home.
WHAT DO YOU SUPPLY FOR YOUR PRESCHOOLER?
-
Black jazz elasta booties (no laces)
-
Pink ballet shoes
-
Black tap shoes.
-
No stockings/tights needed. They can wear them if you wish.
-
They will need to wear flesh coloured undies, so we can’t see bright coloured ones sticking out of the costumes!
-
Black shorts for finale (name on tag)
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO TO GET YOUR DANCER READY THE DAY OF THE CONCERT?
-
They will need to be dressed in their first costume, all other shoes and pair of black shorts in clear plastic bags.
ALL BELONGINGS WILL NEED TO BE CLEARLY LABELLED WITH THEIR NAME.
ALL BELONGINGS WILL NEED TO BE CLEARLY LABELLED WITH THEIR NAME.
HOW DO YOU GET YOUR PRESCHOOLER READY FOR THE CONCERT?
-
They will need to be dressed in their jazz costume, shoes on.
-
Their hair will need to be done before they arrive to the venue
-
Long hair: half up, half down
-
Short hair(above ears): Styled with products.
-
All jewellery and nail polish must be removed.
-
Make up is not compulsory for preschoolers. If they will be wearing it, make up needs to be done before they arrive – foundation, brown eye shadows (dark brown, then light, then white near the eyebrow), eyeliner, mascara, blush, red lipstick – whatever they will allow is fine!
Check out our youtube video on make up:

WHY DO WE SUGGEST MAKEUP FOR STAGE?
Without make up, the stage lights tend to make a person look pale and wash out their features. Make up is used to outline facial features and bring them out on the stage. Up close, some of the make-up might look like a bit much to some but trust us when we say it benefits the dancers when they perform and also gives them a confidence for the stage.

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE CONCERT ON THE 6TH DECEMBER?
Preschoolers are to arrive at 1:30pm, to be dropped off at the change room door and collected by CDT staff.
-
Make up and hair will need to be done before hand.
-
They are dropped off ready for their first dance and any additional shoes are put in a clear bag with their name on it.
-
Shorts are also put in a zip lock bag. No bags or belongings go inside. We provide water and entertainment backstage.
-
Parents are NOT allowed backstage or into change room. We have hired helpers with working with children checks done to assist students with changing and preparation and supervision. This has been decided for a number of reasons: to ensure keep child protection safety as well as a smooth running show, this also allows parents to enjoy the complete experience rather than missing out on other performances and possibly their child’s as there will not be a large amount of acts between age groups. Doors to the auditorium will only open before the show and after the show. Please do not ask to be an exception to the rule.
-
Dancers are not allowed in the foyer.
-
Toddlers will then be shown the stage and where they will dancing and watching from.
-
Auditorium doors open for all guests to be seated at 1:40pm.
-
At 2pm the show will begin, it will run for approximately 2 hours. Students will not be allowed out of the change room until parents have signed them out for dismissal from the CDT Staff after the finale.

HOW DOES THE PICKUP PROCESS WORK?
At the end of the show - the students will walk out group at a time to be clapped and congratulated by their families. After they have had their applause they will exit to be picked up. Primary Rec, then Preschoolers, then preschoolers who are graduating out of the program.
WHAT ABOUT VIDEO RECORDING?
There is STRICTLY no personal recording. If you are caught recording performances or taking photos you will be escorted from the auditorium and your footage erased. Please understand that this is in the best interest of the children as children’s safety is so important to us at CDT and we take the child protection act very seriously. You will receive footage of the concert as part of your concert fee.
HOW CAN YOU HELP YOUR PRESCHOOLER PREPARE?
We will continue to talk about their ‘dancing up on the big stage’ in class, perhaps you could begin to talk about it at home, how they will get to wear special dress ups and do their special dances up on the big stage, how their family and friends will be in the audience to watch them talk about the backstage helpers who will be there to look after them while the show is on. If you would like the music for your preschooler to practice, let us know we can send you a link for $15, as all our music is cut and edited. You can ensure all correct footwear, accessories etc. and purchased well before the actual concert, you can check with the teachers which is correct.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE CONCERT?
The 2026 timetable starts after the concert. This way students get to transition into their new classes before the year ends. Classes will start with their new curriculum.
We have classes up until our last day, Saturday the 13th December.
WHAT IF I HAVE OTHER QUESTIONS?
If any of your questions have not been answered you can check the concert web page which will be released shortly. If your questions is still not answered, contact us on 0401798381 or email us at contact@completedancetraining.com and we will be happy to help you – please don’t think any of your questions are silly! We would rather you ask every question under the sun and feel confident in what is happening than sit back and not be sure – please make sure you have read the handbook thoroughly first. ☺
WILL THIS BE A FUN EXPERIENCE?
Most definitely. It is such a great experience in a positive and friendly environment – something dancers can treasure forever. They get to be part something special, where they are the stars of the show, dress up in special outfits and perform, grow bonds with other members of CDT and create friendships that last a lifetime. It is definitely worth it. We are so excited and hope you are too!
IS THERE A DIFFERENT CDT CONCERT?
Yes! This one is for our performance stream students and will be an incredible show - we highly recommend you watch the show!
